Pakistan is full of beauty and has no shortage of scenic tourist spots which are bound to leave the visitors completely mesmerized. From snow-covered valleys to lush green forests to the sky-kissing mountains, the country presents a number of options for tourists to enjoy a refreshing getaway. One such spot is Domel, yet undiscovered to even the local population.

A spectacular work of nature, Domel is situated in a remote mountainous area of District Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan. It is a small narrow valley that is 100 kilometers away from Astore Valley. The valley borders India in the North-Eastern part of Pakistan. Domel Valley is just 15 kilometers away from the Line of Control. It is surrounded by scenic mountains and streams of water flowing through the valley creating a mesmerizing scene. The valley is situated between the mountains at the altitude of 10,800 ft. The towering mountains are home to wildlife including ibexes, bears, snow leopards, wolfs and chakor (chukar partridge).
Even though the valley is so beautiful that it is referred to as a heaven on earth, the region where it is located experiences very harsh weather during winters, so much so it experiences nearly 5 feet snow every year. Before winter starts, the local people dump food for rest of the winters, purchase household items as they remain strained for almost four months due to heavy snow at Burzil Top. There is another small town adjacent to Domel which is called Nagai Valley. There are 200 to 250 houses in that valley.
Owing to its weather, the best time to visit Domel Valley is during summers, especially during the months of June and July. Here are some noteworthy places to visit in the mesmerizing Domel Valley.

Rainbow Lake
As the name indicates, a rainbow appears after every rainfall at the lake. It is a small lake with beauty embodied to itself. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Domel Valley. The enchanting blue water reflects the majestic mountainous peaks surrounding the valley, making the mesmerizing landscape look like an extraordinary painting. Moreover, Rainbow Lake is famous for its trout fish.
Crystal Lake
In close proximity to Rainbow Lake, there is a small lake where seven streams of water are flowing in a lake called Crystal Lake.

Burzil Pass
Located at the altitude of 14,500 ft., the majestic Burzil Pass connects Astore Valley with Minimarg and Domel Valley. Burzil Pass acts as a gateway to Minimarg, Kamri and Domel. After crossing Burzil Pass, the first village is Minimarg. From Minimarg, the road divides into two paths: one towards Kamri and the other towards Domel. All three valleys are very beautiful, but Domel takes the lead.
In the end, it is apt to say that extended snowcapped mountains, green meadows, incredible wildlife, scattered wetlands, rich wilderness, and deep gorges make Domel Valley the ultimate travel destination for adventure seekers, trekkers and nature photographers. The sprawling green meadows, clear blue lakes, snow-covered passes, ever-changing weather, and stunning Pamiri houses make this valley one of the best places to visit.
